Packing light is an art form, one worth cultivating. At the very least, with minimal weight to carry around you have more transportation options to explore and less to worry about while traveling. And at the end of your trip you have room to bring back treasures you have accumulated, whether you pack them inside your half-empty bag or buy an inexpensive bag to check straight through to your home airport.
